How should I divide a cost?
Press Transactions in the menu.
Let’s pretend we are dividing the rent for the next month and that's is a cost of 5000. I also assume that there are two of you who are going to share this cost.
Name
Input the text Rent May in the field Name. It will be easier to find it later with a descriptive name.
Amount
Then input 5 000 (with a space) or 5000 in the amount field.
Date
Select the date when you actually paid for the rent. I will select April – 31st – 2008 since that is when my bank made the transaction.
Category
Choose accomodation. The category is by default set to food.
Friends
In our example both you and your friend should pay an equal part of the rent. Therefore check the checkboxes of both your own name and the name of your friend.
Once both boxes are checked click on the ’Add this’ button.
